Hats off to this welcoming effort between the Community and Industry! Stay Tuned.

We look forward to adding more info on the nature of this growing Community!
Geraldton, is under the jurisdiction of Greenstone Municipality.
In areas of fair distance from main city centers, Industry can be hard to come by. Geraldton, however, had natural resources that permitted Industry and where there's Industry, there's promise of growth. Financially as well as with Population. Where there's stability, people will come.
In the summer of 1999, Employment Ads for the Mill, were placed across Canada, through the Unemployment Insurance Offices, to "entice" tradesman into moving to Geraldton.
Due to the lack of certain training and advanced educational opportunities in such a remote area, new expertise was brought into town.
In 1999, there still remained Homes, with standard properties, that were averaging anywhere from $5,000 for undeveloped property, to $15,000 and up for older homes, depending on size and location. This fact alone, made it tempting to purchase.
With Industry to rely on and a steady flow of income, long time citizens, as well as new citizens that came or were coming into town, occupied homes that stood empty. The reliable income through industries, allowed individuals the further stability financially, to renovate and maintain their Homes.
When this kind of activity is ascertained within a Community, Financing becomes a good business! By this we mean people have the steady income to do all the things they basically want to do. With a steady income, one can buy that new front door that's needed and upgrade and renovate their homes. One can purchase a new Ski-Doo to tend the livestock or go to the Fishing Hole.
This brought up property value within 2-5 years and encouraged further Industry to take a better look at what Geraldton had to offer. Find Stats available on the Canadian Government site, under Ontario Realestate, Demographics and other reliable source topics.
I personally want to point out that the benefits offered by Industry allot an angle for a Marketing Approach. Whether this Town realizes it or not, the Town at the other side of the lake from nowhere grew more so the image of Geraldton on the Lake
Natural Enviromentalists, Nature and Culture Adventurists, Hunters, Fishermen and Lodges are now more drawn to the image Geraldton portrays.
Much is to be learned from this Town. In perspective, the Community effort from Pioneers till our new age, has displayed courage with change, the ability to learn, grow and evolve. Their acceptance of new ways, new lives and new approaches to new beginnings is evident in their growth and stablility.
Geraldton recently opened it's first Tourist Information Office and we send our sincerest of Congradulations to all!

Time, training, effort and willingness shows that this Town is a place of heritage and opportunity.

Edition: 2001. Geraldton Ontario's Struggles and Evolution.
In this town of tiny War-Homes built row after row, there were several issues to confront prior to getting the town on track.
With a predominantly Native Community, Geraldton, had to deal with Alcoholism, Traditions and Equal Opportunity.
Politics played it's role and a New Mayor was elected. This change brought on effective new means of benefitting what Geraldton had to offer it's Citizens and it's Visitors!
The Mill offered jobs at equal pay to all staff, whether a Floor Sweeper or Millright. They conducted classes for the Elders of the town, to assist them in understanding the neccessity of employment for their youth and families.
Native Traditions have it, that if your elder requests you to assist them with a chore or task, it is disrespectful to say "No", therefore attendance at the plant was sporatic because of traditions or excuses used.

Geraldton, Ontario still has a way to go but is certainly a place to consider:
